Lots of good information there, for everyone really. Examine your nails people, they tell the story of your life and health somehow. Check it out.What cause's ridge's on your finger nails?
vitamin deficency or damage to the nail bed
Because of all the crap chemicals and medicines that we have ingested over the years, our body builds up immunities, even to our own hormones. Ridges on your finger nails are caused by your body building up an ammunity to your thyroid, or whatever chemicals it disperses through your body. Not a good thing. But I don't know how to fix it. I have them too. But not everyone does. It depends on your personal chemical makeup and how this reacts to the madmade chemicals that we ingest.
i dunno
lack of vitamins... maybe ';E';
Damage to the nail bed (where the nail starts, under the cuticle). I have one on my index finger from slamming my hand in a file cabinet.
It can mean you have a deficiency in your diet, or if you have worn artificial nails in the past, they are a big offender, they make the nail bed so weak, that buffing them is the only thing that will help them recover.

Damage to the nail bed (where the nail starts, under the cuticle).
I've heard illness, and stress are generally the cause.
Ridges or (corruguations) in nails occur when nail growth is uneven, usually because of illness or injury. Gentle buffing can minimize ridges. Try a Ridge Filler to help level the nail surface, making shallow ridges and other imperfections practically disappear while conditioning with Calcium and Pro-Vitamin B5.

Hope this helps! ~Bon
