My nails have ridges (longitudinal) developing.Seem to remember reading somewhere that it indicates disease.?

Longitudinal ridges are normal, become more so as we grow older.

Transverse ridges can indicate an interruption in growth caused by illness.

it is normal to have ridges running along your fingernail (ie towards the tips of your fingers

if you are ill or stressed then nail growth can be affected and (some time later since nails grow slowly) you can get a ridge going across your fingernail. My nails have ridges (longitudinal) developing.Seem to remember reading somewhere that it indicates disease.?
